Matinecock, NY: The victims in an apparent murder-suicide in a minivan in Matinecock were formerly husband and wife, Nassau County police said Tuesday. The bodies of Eddy Abregu, 51, and his ex-wife, Clara Urbina-Villalobos, 45, both of Glen Cove, were found Monday morning in the minivan on Oyster Bay Road, police said. Homicide Squad detectives said that Urbina-Villalobos was driving the van when a confrontation between the two occurred. Police made the grisly discovery at 749 Lafayette Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant after neighbors complained about the smell coming from a second-floor unit, officials said. A Ruger .357 magnum was recovered from the apartment, according to police sources. The adult couple was identified as ex-con David Sherrod, 44, and Alma Cox, 51.
